LESSON NOTES


1-LITERATURE?  WHAT´S A CHILD?

1.       The recognition of the child´s world and interest as a premise.
2.       Adults oriented books with a clear “children´s world content”
3.       Cross-over books; Harry Potter.
4.       What´s childhood? It´s recognized within a social context as dynamic constructive:
           -6 year old children    (pictures + books)
           -12 year old children  (ilustrations +texts)
 
Historical, anthropological and social studies.


 

2-BENEFITS OF USING LITERATURE IN OUR LESSONS

-Literature and its Didactics; Children´s and teen´s literature; practical criticism perpective.

-Genres + texts .  

   Authors

-Creative writing/telling

-Literature genre pedagogy.

-Poetic versus literary beauty.

 

·3.GENRE CATEGORY

 - Aristotle's theory of Art; Poetic.

 

1.    Lyric; riddles, songs, chants, children´s poetry (children´s literature)

2.    Narrative; fiction, biographies, historical narrative…

3.    Drama;  children´s theatre.

 

Children´s and teen´s literature is a category for an independent genre but it´s  not a literary genre.



        4-WE SHOULD INCLUDE READING PROJECTS IN OUR DIDACTIC PLANNING SYLLABUS:

·         The teacher reads aloud.

·         The teacher tells a tale.

·         The student reads aloud.

·         The student tells a tale.

·         The student faces the classics.

·         The student creates and interacts.

 

DEFINITONS TO BEAR IN MIND

             -ACCULTURATION

                  It integrates different elements from your own culture to other culture/s, creating      literary conscious.

            -CROSS OVER BOOKS

Crossover books –  novels that appeal to adults as much as they do to children –they are often published with two different covers but successful in both markets.
